Missing Pit Bull Has Neighborhood On Edge

DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. -- Douglas County Animal Control is looking for a missing pit bull that attacked a woman and sent her to the hospital.

Frankie Forsh said she nearly died Monday after getting attacked by a pack of pit bull dogs.

"It's like your life is flashing before you and you’ll never see your family again," said Forsh.

The three dogs ripped apart her arms, legs, and face.

"The plastic surgeon stitched the left side of my face," Forsh said. "The right side I will probably have to have skin grafts."

According to Forsh, Douglas County Animal Control told her they had all three dogs.

A spokesperson with animal control told CBS Atlanta one of the dogs is still on the loose after somehow getting away from the dog catcher.

"It frustrates me," Forsh said. "It scares me. I never felt unsafe walking in my neighborhood like I do now."

Frosh said the attack happened during a neighborhood walk.

"They kept charging at me, they didn’t back up so I started screaming and started fighting them off," said Frosh.

Edd Stephens heard the screams and said he grabbed a big stick and brick.

"The brown one had the lady by the face, so I threw a brick at him and it hit him in the face," he said.

Animal Control said the missing dog may return to the area where it lives, and area residents are now scared.

"I'm definitely concerned about that. My kids will be in the house," said Kerri Roberts.

"No one should be afraid to walk in their neighborhood," Forsh said.
